Terms of service

By creating a Gatekeepah account you accept these terms. If you are using Gatekeepah for a company or client, you confirm you are allowed to accept them on that organisation's behalf.

Gatekeepah is operated by Hypefury, Inc.

Gatekeepah lets you connect your own Telegram bot, publish an application flow, review applicants from a moderator group, and admit accepted applicants with a single-use invite link that expires after 24 hours.

Gatekeepah is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Telegram. Your bot and your groups remain yours, and your use of Telegram is governed by Telegram's own terms.

• You must be at least 16 years old and provide an email address you control.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what your moderators do.
• Keep your bot token private. Anyone holding it can control your bot.
• Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

You decide what to ask applicants and who to admit, so those decisions are yours to justify. You agree that:

• You have the right to operate the Telegram groups you connect.
• You will tell applicants how their answers will be used, and have a lawful basis for collecting them.
• You will not use application questions to collect special category data — health, religion, sexuality, political opinions, or biometric identifiers — unless you have a lawful basis and have taken your own legal advice.
• You will not use the service to harass, discriminate unlawfully against, or unlawfully profile applicants.
• You will respond to applicants who ask you to delete their data.

If you ask applicants for a photo, remember what the product does and does not do: Gatekeepah passes only Telegram's file reference so your moderators can view it in Telegram. It never downloads or stores image files and performs no biometric analysis. Judging a photo is a human decision made by your moderators.

You may not use Gatekeepah to:

• Break the law, or help anyone else do so.
• Run communities distributing illegal content, including any sexual content involving minors.
• Send spam, or scrape and resell applicant data.
• Interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or work around plan limits.
• Impersonate someone else, including us or Telegram.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why first.

• Free — $0 forever, 10 accepted applicants in total.
• Small — $19 per year, 100 accepted applicants per year.
• Community — $49 per year, 1,000 accepted applicants per year.

Paid plans are billed yearly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are shown before you pay and exclude tax where applicable. Only accepted applicants count toward your limit — applications in progress, declined, or abandoned do not.

Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as merchant of record and seller for your purchase. Paddle handles invoices, tax, and your payment details. Paddle's own terms apply to the transaction.

You can cancel anytime from the billing page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.

If Gatekeepah is not right for you, email hello@gatekeepah.com within 30 days of a payment and we will refund it in full, no argument.

After 30 days we do not refund the remainder of a yearly term, though you are welcome to cancel so it does not renew. Refunds are issued through Paddle to the original payment method. Nothing here removes any statutory refund rights you have where you live.

Your account data and your applicants' answers belong to you. We process them to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy. For applicant data we act as your processor and follow your instructions. If you need a data processing agreement, email us and we will provide one.

You can export or delete your data by asking us. When you close your account we delete its data within 60 days, except what we must keep for tax or accounting.

We work to keep Gatekeepah running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Parts of it depend on Telegram, and Telegram can change or restrict its platform at any time. We may change features as the product develops; if we remove something you rely on, we will give you reasonable notice.

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Gatekeepah helps you screen applicants. It does not verify anyone's identity and does not guarantee that an accepted applicant is who they say they are. Admission decisions are made by your moderators.

You agree to cover our reasonable losses if a third party — including an applicant — brings a claim against us because of how you used the service or the questions you chose to ask.

You can close your account at any time. We can end this agreement with 30 days' notice, or immediately if you seriously breach these terms. If we end it without cause, we refund the unused part of your term.

We will email account holders before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use Gatekeepah after that means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
